In 2023, the torch was passed to their daughter, Jamie Mead, and her partner, Chef Matt Chambas of Door County Underground, who brought a fresh perspective to the cherished menu. Within a modest fishing village at the tip of the Door Peninsula, a family-owned restaurant has served Gills Rock and communities for over thirty-three years. The Shoreline’s owners, Mary and Mike Mead, have created a warm and comfortable setting for lunch and dinner “where every meal is served with a stunning view overlooking the western waters of Lake Michigan’s Green Bay.”¹ During the 2023 season, their daughter Jamie Mead and partner Chef Matt Chambas, owners of Door County Underground, lead the kitchen and, in doing so, brought their fresh perspective to the well-loved menu.¹

A Friendly and Hard-working Team
During this project, the restaurant wanted to bring light to their impressive, hard-working team that makes everything possible. This included pictures of them doing what they do best, keeping things running efficiently with a smile.

The Menu
Providing a fresh take on the beloved menu created by Mary and Mike Mead, Jamie and Matt have added some new additions and features while incorporating some of their expertise from Door County Underground.
“The food has always maintained a nod to Wisconsin Supper Club culture while highlighting locally caught lake fish and house recipes carried down from generational family secrets.”¹
