The Real Estate Case Competition organized by KTH Real Estate Club (REC) is an annual event in October. The case competition is open to all members enrolled at Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, who can apply either individually or as a team. The selection process is based on the participants' drive, experience, and ambitions. The competition is designed to be challenging, with stages that test the student's understanding of different aspects of the real estate industry, including financial modeling, market understanding, sustainability, risk evaluation, zoning considerations, presentation skills, and overall feasibility. This year the organization used ZFMK Creative to help capture the award ceremony and highlight the winners moving on to the international competition hosted in New York City by Cornell University.

This year, a total of eleven teams competed against one another and presented in front of a jury made up of business professionals from around Stockholm, including Vasakronan, Savills Sweden, and Niam. Together, the experience in the industry of the jury helped determine which two teams would move on to the international competition and represent the organization and institution. Each group of students was tasked with assessing an investment opportunity in Alvik’s Beach, an area north of Stockholm’s city center. After a week of planning from the students, they present their findings and proposal at the case competition.

Professor Henry Muyingo spoke about the importance of this opportunity.

The two winning teams meet with KTH REC President Klara Dolk to discuss what would happen next and about the trip to New York City.

This year, there were four finalist group teams for the jury to deliberate and decide which would move on to the final competition. The two groups not moving on are listed first with the two winning teams listed last and pictured below.
